Uzbekistan for Honeymoons: A Romantic Silk Road Escape

Khiva, Uzbekistan

Blue-domed cities, desert nights under the stars and warm hospitality make Uzbekistan a quietly perfect honeymoon. Here is how to make it special.

Why honeymoon in Uzbekistan

It is romantic in an unexpected way: candlelit dinners in restored caravanserais, the Registan glowing at sunset, a private night in a desert yurt, and almost none of the crowds of better-known destinations. It feels like a discovery you’ve made together — intimate, photogenic and refreshingly uncommercial.

The most romantic stays

Sleep inside the walls of Khiva’s old town, in a restored merchant’s house in Bukhara, or a boutique heritage hotel in Samarkand. We choose characterful, atmospheric properties over big chains — a courtyard, a rooftop view of the domes, a quiet corner for two.

Romantic experiences

Private sunrise at the Registan before the crowds, a sunset camel ride and starlit dinner at Aydarkul, a hammam, a couples’ carpet- or cooking-experience, and long lazy meals of plov and Uzbek wine. Small touches — flowers, a special table — are easy for us to arrange.

When to go

Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) bring the kindest weather and the prettiest light — blossom or golden vineyards — and comfortable temperatures for both city walks and desert nights. These are also the best months for photographs you’ll want to frame.

Planning your honeymoon

We tailor honeymoons around comfort and privacy: a private guide and car, the best rooms, unhurried days and the romantic set-pieces above. Tell us your dates and what “romantic” means to you, and we’ll craft the trip.
