The best time to visit Uzbekistan, month by month

Spring and autumn are the sweet spots — here is exactly what each month feels like.
Spring: April to May
The classic season. Orchards blossom, the steppe turns green and daytime temperatures sit in the comfortable low twenties. Book early — this is when everyone wants to come.
Summer: June to August
Hot and dry, often above 38°C in the desert cities. Sightseeing happens early and late in the day. The upside: far fewer visitors and lower prices, and the Nurata desert nights are glorious.
Autumn: September to October
Our favourite. Warm days, cool evenings and the harvest in full swing — markets overflow with melons, grapes and pomegranates.
Winter: November to March
Crisp, clear and atmospheric, with monuments almost to yourself and a dusting of snow on the blue domes. Pack layers.
